DirecTV Offers In-Depth Coverage of 2009 Masters Tournament

During the 2009 Masters Golf Tournament, DirecTV will provide unrivaled, in-depth TV coverage. As the globe’s best golfers vie for the Green Jacket on the Augusta National Golf Club course, DirecTV’s interactive broadcast package will keep fans engaged with multichannel coverage.

This year’s Masters programming, brought to you by DirecTV, will unite live CBS Sports with ESPN broadcasts and feature DirecTV’s trademark 4-in-1 Mix Channel. Masters coverage, available in both high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD), will include various interactive features such as detailed player scorecards, complete Leaderboard information, and exclusive video on demand (VOD) programming.

DirecTV, leading satellite TV provider, will present award-winning Masters programming April 9 and 10 during ESPN coverage of the first two rounds; and April 11 and 12 during CBS Sports coverage of the final two rounds.

"We're privileged to offer DirecTV’s interactive coverage of the Masters Tournament again this year and provide our customers with an in-depth viewing experience that is unique to televised professional golf events," stated Eric Shanks, Executive Vice President of DirecTV Entertainment. "Our broadcast partners at CBS Sports have put together another incredible production team with camera crews and announcers strategically placed at critical holes around the course so viewers can continuously track the dramatic turning points in the tournament as they happen."

DirecTV subscribers can experience the 4-in-1 Masters Mix Channel by tuning to channel 701. The 4-in-1 Mix will provide complete coverage of Holes 15 and 16; live network coverage from CBS Sports and ESPN; a “Masters in Depth” channel, combining live updates with highlights and golfer interviews; and “Amen Corner,” offering non-stop coverage as the field plays through Holes, 11, 12, and 13.
