DirecTV Más Collaborates with HOPE to Celebrate Latinas

To support and honor Latina women for their many contributions to society, DirecTV’s English and Spanish-language programming service, DirecTV Más, has teamed up with the Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) to celebrate the 18th Annual Latina History Day in Los Angeles, California.

The El Segundo-based satellite company will support the advancement of Latina women by sponsoring today’s day-long conference, to be held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

More than 600 women attend this annual conference, celebrating the historic contributions of Latina women in financial empowerment, the condition of public education, and in forums on corporate development.

“DIRECTV Más is committed to celebrating the contributions that Latinas make on a daily basis, that have had a lasting and valuable impact on our communities and society as a whole,” stated Vice President of WorldDirect Inc., John de Armas. “We are extremely proud of the many positive portrayals of Latinas on the Más programming platform from all across the Americas, and we are proud to support HOPE in their continued effort to uplift Latinas everywhere.”

The Latina History Day conference is held annually on the second Friday of March, and it is the only conference in Los Angeles tailored specifically to the needs of Latina professionals; providing skills development, networking opportunities, and other skills beneficial to the advancement of Latina women in corporate culture.

DirecTV Más provides the largest selection of English and Spanish-language programming on the market. Coupled with cutting-edge satellite technology, and digital-quality picture and sound, this affordable package offers more than 55 Spanish-language channels. Diverse programming is transmitted from Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Spain, Mexico, Central America, and South America.
