DirecTV Offers HD in Lafayette
The #1 satellite TV provider in the United States, El Segundo-based DirecTV, announced that it will provide high definition programming to subscribers in Lafayette, Indiana, and surrounding areas. WLFI/CBS, WXIN/FOX, WTTV/CW, and WTHR/NBC will now be available in HD.
- When: Beginning Friday, May 15, 2009
- How: In order to enjoy DirecTV's local HDTV programming, subscribers must own an H21 or H20 receiver, or an H21 or H20 DirecTV Plus HD DVR and a Ka/Ku band dish. To learn more about HD service from DirecTV, please visit www.directv.com.

In addition, DirecTV honors Congressman Steve Buyer for his participation in the initiative to provide Lafayette customers with local channels in high definition.
DirecTV will provide 125 cities with local HD broadcast channels, serving over eighty-nine perfecnt of households in the United States. Lafayette is the 151st city to have access to local HD programming from DirecTV, including regions where DirecTV also provides standard definition local channels.
