Before being laid to rest in his native Toronto, actor Corey Haim, who was found dead on Wednesday, will be memorialized first in Los Angeles.

Heading in to Sunday night's awards ceremony, there was plenty of talk surround a couple of films and a handful of performances. Headlining all the Oscar buzz was the chit-chat surrounding the Best Picture category, where Avatar and The Hurt Locker were hotly contested among the press and fans alike. I saw eight of the ten Best Picture nominees at least once, and a couple of them twice or more. I truly enjoyed Precious and A Serious Man, but knew that neither would take home the statue. I was personally pleased to see The Hurt Locker win the Best Picture Oscar.
