OPTIMIZE YOUR DIRECTV for BUSINESS℠ DEVICES

Getting set up with a new TV service doesn’t need to be a headache. DIRECTV for BUSINESS wants your experience to be as flawless as possible so here are a few easy tricks to keep your devices working for you.

HOW TO PROGRAM YOUR DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS UNIVERSAL REMOTE

Having dozens of remotes probably doesn’t bring you joy, so DIRECTV for BUSINESS is making it easy to toss them all out with the Universal Remote. Streamline your entertainment experience by controlling your TV, receiver, surround sound, and more with one intuitive remote.

There are two different approaches to programming your remote: automatic or manual. Automatic does most of the technical stuff for you and should work with most setups, but manual is there in case that approach doesn’t work.

Automatic

  1. Click Menu
  2. Use arrows to scroll down to select “Settings > Remote Control > Pair/Program Remote
  3. Instructions should appear on the screen. Follow those to complete the setup

Manual

  1. Lookup the 5-digit device code that corresponds with your TV brand
  2. Change the remote’s Mode to TV
  3. Press and Hold Mute and Select buttons until light blinks twice
  4. Enter code ( lights will blink twice)
  5. Test connection with volume controls (it may take a couple of tries to find the correct code)
  6. Repeat Step 3
  7. If the remote control is working, proceed to step 8. If not, repeat steps 3-5, trying new codes until it does.
  8. Enter the code 960 (until lights blink twice)

REALIGN YOUR DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS SATELLITE DISH

The positioning of your satellite dish has a significant impact on your signal strength and clarity, which is why it is paramount to keep it properly aligned. Whether your dish was dislodged by wind, weather, or critters it might be necessary to realign it to optimize your feed. To ensure your safety, it’s recommended that you hire a trained technician to realign your dish.

THE RECEIVER

Have you tried turning it off then back on again? But seriously. A lot of hiccups can be resolved by simply unplugging the receiver, waiting 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. If that doesn’t work, make sure the power cord is firmly plugged in on the receiver end as well as the wall, that the power outlet works, and that the program you’re trying to watch has started.

THE FINAL SAY

When it comes down to it, all the troubleshooting in the world won’t fix old equipment. If you’ve tried these quick fixes and they didn’t do the trick, contact customer support or look into treating yourself to an upgrade.
